How we test and score air fryers
In short
We review each air fryer separately using manufacturer information, the Amazon listing and reviews from buyers and media. The 0-to-10 scores are editorial judgment computed by comparing each model with the rest of the catalog; they are not manufacturer data or a lab measurement. When a value is missing we show a dash; we never invent a figure.
Where the data comes from
For every model we start from three sources: the manufacturer's spec sheet, the product page on Amazon.com, and a read of buyer reviews and third-party analysis of the exact model. When a field is missing on Amazon (power, dimensions, accessories and so on), we complete it from the brand's official site. If a value appears in no reliable source, the spec sheet shows it as «—».
What the 0-to-10 scores mean
Each air fryer gets six scores: capacity, power, versatility, ease of use, compact size and value for money. They are relative to our catalog: a 10 for capacity means "among the largest we have reviewed," not an absolute value. They are computed from the specifications (quarts, watts, number of programs, panel type, weight, footprint, warranty and so on) and are recomputed every time we add a product, so scores can shift slightly over time.
The radar chart on each review and in the comparison tool plots those six scores. It is a visual aid to see at a glance where one model wins and where it loses against another.
Prices
Prices change daily on Amazon and depend on the country. That is why we do not show a fixed price: we show the average rating and the real review count (which do not depend on country) and, for the price, a "View on Amazon" button that takes you to the current price in your country at that moment. When we do quote an indicative price, it carries the date we checked.
How the rankings are built
Each ranking is generated from the data, not by hand. For example, "best selling" sorts by number of reviews on Amazon (the best public proxy for sales volume); "for a whole chicken" filters by real capacity and sorts by volume; "best value" uses our editorial value-for-money score. What we don't do
We do not accept payment to be listed or to score better. No manufacturer reviews these texts before publication. We do not invent specifications to fill a table or a chart. Affiliate commissions (see the affiliate disclosure) do not depend on the brand or the score.
